The parenthetical citation looks like this: there has been a spike in cases among Boston area college students (Henderson and Hamilton, 2016)
Let’s say you have more that one source: you would separate multiple citations with a semicolon, such as: (Henderson and Hamilton, 2016; Smith, 2020).
If there are three or more authors, after they are mentioned the first time, future references can be listed as “(first author) et al.” which means and others in latin. For example, subsequent citations of the study by Henderson, Hamilton, and Jones (2016) would be noted as (Henderson et al., 2016).

In the case of a quotation citation: “The anarcho syndicalist tendencies are baseless and unfounded” (Sully, 2011, p. (page) 217)
As Sully (2011) states, “those anarcho syndicalist tendicies are baseless and unfounded” (p. 217).
