  2. Adversity - difficulties

  3. Asylum - A place of safety, security

  4. Brusque - Abrupt, rude, short

  5. Clairvoyant -  person who claims to have a supernatural ability to perceive events in the future

  6. Conditional -  it will only happen or continue if this thing happens, based upon something else

  7. Digression - a temporary departure from the main subject

  8. Empathy - ability to understand and share the feelings of another

  9. Exemplary - role model, high standards 

  10. Haughty - arrogantly superior

  11. Inconsequential - not important

  12. Fortuitous - to be lucky

  13. Lobbyist - to influence, lots of money, persuade government officials

  14. Orator - a skilled public speaker

  15. Precocious - having developed certain abilities at an early age

  16. Provocative - causing annoyance, anger, or another strong reaction, especially deliberately

  17. Reconciliation - the restoration of friendly relations

  18. Scrutinize - examine or inspect closely and thoroughly

  19. Subtle - so delicate or precise as to be difficult to analyze or describe

  20.  Tenacious - tending to keep a firm hold of something
