Corporate communications consists of four departments:

  1. Advertising

  2. Marketing communications

  3. Marketing

  4. Public Relations

Advertising:

Paid and controlled mass communications with a purpose to impart.

Marketing communications:

The branding of products, services, and organizations including areas such as consistency, differentiations, equity, identity, imaging, loyalty, positioning, publicity, promotion, relationship, and reputation. 

Marketing:

The management function which creates products or services to fill public needs and then persuade the public to buy the products or services. 

PR:

The management function which creates policies and actions to fill public demands and then persuades the public to approve the policies and actions. It involves target audiences, markets, programs, campaigns, special events, publicity, and promotions.
