Angles and Their Relationships

Vertical Angles
  • Vertical Angles: The angles opposite each other when two lines cross.

Linear Pair
  • Linear Pair: Add Up to 180°

  • Definition: A pair of adjacent angles that form a straight line.

Consecutive Interior Angles
  • Consecutive Interior: Add Up to 180°

  • Definition: Angles that are on the same side of the transversal and inside the two lines.

Consecutive Exterior Angles
  • Consecutive Exterior: Add Up to 180°

  • Definition: Angles that are on the same side of the transversal and outside the two lines.

Alternate Interior Angles
  • Alternate Interior: Add Up to 180°

  • Definition: Non-adjacent interior angles that lie on opposite sides of the transversal.

Alternate Exterior Angles
  • Alternate Exterior: Add Up to 180°

  • Definition: Non-adjacent exterior angles that lie on opposite sides of the transversal.

  • Corresponding Angles: Angles that are in the same position at each intersection where a straight line crosses two others.
