Functions of the Spinal Cord and the Complexity of Thinking

    • Clapping at the conclusion of a programme.

  • Mechanism of Communication: For voluntary actions, the brain must send messages to the muscles. This represents the second major method by which the nervous system communicates with muscular tissue.

The Peripheral Nervous System (PNS)

  • Role: The PNS facilitates direct communication between the Central Nervous System and the rest of the body.

  • Composition:

    • Cranial Nerves: These nerves arise from the brain.

    • Spinal Nerves: These nerves arise from the spinal cord.

  • General Organization: The brain allows for thinking and subsequent action through a complex design where specific regions integrate various inputs and outputs.

    1. Fore-brain
