One reason that Jooma would rather recruit internally than externally is that it is cost effective. Which means that company doesn’t have to spend money on recruitment for example they would have to spend money on job adverts or even pay recruitment agencies. This means recruiting internally is cheaper which would help Jooma reduce costs which is useful as it runs over 200 restaurants and needs to fill roles quickly without spending extra money.

On the job training

Off the job training
Training which takes place away from the workplace often led by trained professional
Pros: Access to specialist skills, can be more focused and in depth, fresh ideas and no pressure from daily job tasks
Cons: Can be expensive, employee might not be productive, employee might leave the company
Redeployment involves moving employees to different jobs, departments or locations within the same business
Redundancy arises when an employee is dismissed because the job/ role no longer exists or is required
