Form AP stands for Audit Participants.
It provides visibility into audit participants beyond just the audit firm.
Contents of Form AP
Filed with PCAOB (Public Company Accounting Oversight Board).
Includes:
Name of the audit firm.
Name of the issuer (e.g., Costco).
Date of the audit report.
Financial statement date.
Engagement partner's name.
Participation of other auditing firms.
Filing Requirements
Must be filed by the 35th day after the audit report date.
If included in a registration statement, file within 10 days after that.
Inclusion in Audit Report
Optional to include information from Form AP in the audit report:
Engagement partner's full name.
Information about other accounting firms participating in the audit.
If using other auditors:
Disclose legal name, city, state, and the share of work done.
Important Note
Even with optional inclusion, Form AP must still be filed.
