    • know the person you are emailing when using humor

    • avoid writing in a negative tone

    • speak normally and at a normal pace

    • use a proper title

    • carefully listen

    • have information that you need ready before the call

    • never use slang

    • never eat or drink

    • do not have a conversation with another person

Nonverbal Etiquette

    • make eyecontact

    • smile

    • provide facial expressions to show you are listening (nodding)

    • give a firm handshake

    • do not slouch or show bad posture - shows lack of confidence

    • carefule with having an emotionless face - comes across as unapproacable

    • be aware of tone of voice - calm down before communicating
