What is the law of conservation of energy? The law of conversion of energy states that energy can be converted from one form to another, but it is not created or destroyed in ordinary physical and chemical processes
Give two examples of energy conversion. In a dam, there is potential energy that is stored because the water is being held back. As water moves through the dams systems, however, it is converted into kinetic energy. As in goes through the machinery of the dam, it is also converted into mechanical and electrical energy
What is the difference between trying to conserve energy and the conservation of energy? Conserving energy means to inhibit an object from expending a certain form of energy; however, in doing this energy is still used in but in some other form. The conservation of energy means that although energy forms change, the total amount of energy doesn’t.
What does temperature measure? the kinetic energy of the vibrations caused my molecules
What are the freezing and boiling points of water in the three different temperature scales?In F, the freezing point is 32° and the melting point is 212°. In C, the freezing point is 0°, and the melting point is 100°. In K, the freezing point is 273.15° and the melting point is 373.15°.
How do you convert between Celsius and Kelvin? Record some practice conversions. You use that 0°C=32°F=237.15°K as a conversion factor.
How does increased temperature affect the amount of salt, carbon, and other substances able to dissolve in the ocean?  What are the resulting effects? Salt, carbon and other substances can easily dissolve into the ocean. Unfortunately, pollutants can also dissolve into the ocean, inhibiting the oceans ability to dissolve and break down carbon dioxide, thus increasing the amount of CO2 in the air, in turn warming up oceans and repeating the vicious cycle again.
