Independent group= one group for one condition and another group for another condition. Randomly selected through lottery method to avoid bias. Strength=unlikely to figure out aim of study Weakness=any differences may be due to individual differences and not the iv

Repeated measures= where the same group do both conditions Strength= individual differences won’t affect results since it’s the same people. Weakness=order effects like boredom or learning the aim

Matched pairs= recruit people then take a questionnaire and pair people up with the most similar test scores. One goes in condition one the other goes in condition 2 Strength= there will be no problems due to order affects(boredom or lack of energy) or individual differences. Weakness= most expensive and time consuming method.
