• Main argument / main point - what is the single claim the whole passage builds toward?

• Inference / implication - what does the passage entail without saying it outright?

• 'EXCEPT' or negative - which option is NOT supported by the passage?

• Word in context - what does this specific word mean here (not in a dictionary)?

• Author's attitude / tone - is the writer approving, disapproving, ironic, cautious?

• Assumption - what does the argument take for granted in order to work?
