• Occipitofrontalis – Frontal belly: Raises eyebrows and wrinkles forehead

• Occipitofrontalis – Occipital belly: Pulls scalp backward

• Corrugator supercilii: Draws eyebrows medially and inferiorly (frowning)

• Orbicularis oculi: Closes eyes tightly

• Zygomaticus major: Elevates the angle of the mouth (smiling)

• Orbicularis oris: Closes lips; used in puckering

• Buccinator: Compresses cheek; keeps food between teeth

• Depressor anguli oris: Depresses the angle of the mouth (frowning)

• Innervation of facial muscles: Facial nerve (Cranial Nerve VII)
