10 Firearm Safety Commandments
- Treat every firearm as loaded.
- Always be aware of muzzle direction.
- Keep muzzle and action clean and clear.
- Be certain of your target and what is beyond it.
- Unload firearms when not in use or when storing.
- Never point a firearm at anything you do not intend to shoot.
- Do not climb trees or fences, or jump ditches with loaded firearms.
- Avoid shooting at flat, hard surfaces or water to prevent ricochet.
- Store guns and ammunition separately.
- Avoid alcohol and drugs before or during firearm use.
