About the Safety and Health Award Recognition for Projects (SHARP)
Recognizes exemplary safety and health practices in projects such as:
Shipyard projects
Construction projects
Large internal projects of companies
Submission: Only one application per project or worksite, but multiple can be submitted for different projects under the same company.
Criteria
Minimum Conditions
Meeting criteria does not guarantee an award; selection is based on ranked WSH performance.
Qualifying Period: 1 Jan 2024 - 31 Dec 2024

Industry-specific Qualifying Injury Rates:
Construction: 151
Manufacturing: 218
Marine: 177
Transportation & Storage: 143
Accommodation & Food Services: 253
Health & Social Services: 331
Others vary from 58 to 331 depending on the sector.
Checklists/Certifications Required: Must meet industry-specific checklist standards.
Incident Reporting: Must subscribe to the Ministry of Manpower’s WSH alert service.
Injury Criteria: Must have no fatal injuries or dangerous occurrences, and a minimum of 400,000 manhours without minor injuries.
Contractor Criteria: Contractors must have attained bizSAFE Level 3 or higher.
Total WSH Concept: Projects must implement Total WSH concepts integrating health and safety.
Technology in WSH: Demonstrate efforts to utilize technology for safety improvements.
Types of Checklists or Certifications
Required Documents by Industry
Construction: ConSASS 2020 checklist with at least 70% score for Band III.
Marine: WSHMS 2020 checklist with at least 70% score for Band III.
Manufacturing: WSHMS 2020 or Singapore Standards (SS) 651.
Healthcare: Specific programs and certifications required, such as ISO 45001 or bizSAFE STAR.
Auditing Services Requirements
Completion of relevant checklists by auditors.
Self-check using the ConSASS 2020 or WSHMS 2020 checklist advised before engaging auditors.
Audits must be conducted by an accredited organisation (AO) with limitations on consecutive years.
Disqualifying conditions include workplace incidents during the application period.
Evaluation
Verification of supporting documents, records, and incident reports with the Ministry of Manpower.
Disqualification rules include any workplace accidents or misleading information provided in applications.

Check eligibility and prepare necessary documents.
Submit Parts 1 and 2 (Project and Statistics) online.
Upload remaining supporting documents to OneDrive by deadline.

Project name (max 50 characters)
Company name and Unique Entity Number (UEN)
Workplace details and Industry classification
Total workforce and Safety metrics
Part 2: WSH Statistics
Information Gathering
Record of any work-related accidents, Stop Work Orders, and demerit points.
Total manhours and Workplace Injury Rate calculations necessary.
Part 3: Evidence-Based Assessment
Checklist Requirements
Complete ConSASS 2020 or WSHMS 2020 checklist.
Information on additional certifications and program implementations in the workplace.
Part 4: Auditor’s Details and Declaration Form
Auditor Responsibilities
Conduct on-site audits.
Provide a thorough assessment highlighting strengths, areas for improvement, and other observations.
Ensure adherence to confidentiality and integrity of the appraisal process.
Terms and Conditions
Applications must meet all requirements and are final on submission.
Late or incomplete applications will be rejected without notice.
WSH Council's decision is final, and recipients will be announced at the awards ceremony.
