How to Maintain

  • actual depends on if you are easy on the gas pedal instead of flooring, accelerate smoothly

  • Check tire pressure, lower tire pressure results in more resistance and more L/km

  • remove uneccesary weight in the car

  • Maintain by oil changes

    • overtime oil gets dirty thick and bad for the car (usually every 5,000-7,000km)

  • Air filters so engine can breathe in air to burn air efficiently

  • Brake pads if feel soft then get them checked

  • Dead battery

    • most batteries last 3-5 years

  • When turning on the car let the car warm up, when you go instantly off a cold start the oil is still cold but the oil needs to be warm to properly lubricate the engine.

  • 30s - 1min max (can see if revs drop a little)

  • Don’t go too fast over speed bumps because car is not built to take sudden jolts which affects drive train and suspension

  • Don’t slam on the brakes

  • Avoid potholes or uneven areas of the road

  • Don’t reverse if the car has not stopped moving forward

  • Don’t leave gas tank low before filling up (1/4)

  • During winter need to clean underside of car
