Assessment Task 2 Overview
Title: Observations and Reflections on Practice
Purpose: To use observations and reflective practices to inform teaching decisions and pedagogical approaches.
Task Description
Teachers utilize observational data to:
Interpret
Analyze
Reflect
This informs future teaching and learning practices.
The assessment involves:
Engaging in three cycles of observation and reflection related to classroom practice and collegial conversations.
Writing personal reflections using a reflective framework.
Submission Requirements
Reflections: 3 x 500-word reflections (1500 words total +/- 10%)
Based on the observation/reflection cycle.
Cannot exceed this word limit; does not include references or templates.
Observation Templates: Required for each case study (no word limit).
Schedule
Observation Cycles: Conducted in Weeks 8, 10, and 11
Encouragement: To write reflections immediately after each case study presentation.
Resources Available
Framework: 4R's Tool for Reflection is provided to guide reflections.
Workshops: Opportunities to discuss helpful topics for the reflection process.
Readings: Weekly readings and textbooks should be referenced appropriately.
Assessment Support: Access to FAQs and Padlet resources.

Guidelines:
Generative AI tools may be used to prepare and refine content.

Reporting and Responding (10%):
Focus on issues related to EUB104.
Quality of explanation and support by reflections.
Clear connections to observation templates.
Relating to Self (5%):
Connections between observation and personal skills or knowledge.
Impact on beliefs and experiences as a pre-service teacher.
Reasoning (10%):
Highlight significant factors underlying the observation.
Use of relevant APST and literature to support explanation.
Reconstructing (5%):
Future teaching practice implications based on observations.
Identification of strategies or scenarios.
Observation Templates (15%):
Comprehensiveness and detail reflecting engagement with the observation process.
Professional language and confidentiality adherence.
Writing Quality (5%):
Clarity, organization, and coherence of writing.
APA referencing standards.
Minimal grammatical errors.
