48 Horas Chapter recap
Chapter One
Sonia opens her eyes but the light is intense and she can’t tolerate it.
she sees two people looking at her. One is a policeman and the other is a doctor
she asks where she is. She is in the hospital
she remembers everything and panics
she asks where harry and alex are.
Chapter Two
Alex and Sonia (friends) are studying in the Galapagos during the December holidays.
Alex asks if Sonia is doing the homework or not, and she says she is not
Sonia needs an A in this class if she wants to work with Dr. Riera in June, and she wants to.
then Alex and Sonia walked to the hotel lobby where they found the other students in the class. there were 15 in total. 8 boys and 6 girls plus the teacher
they are going to take a class called “Biology, the Galapagos and Darwin” which is two weeks long.
they are going to study the work of Charles Darwin
Sonia says she has fallen in love with the islands from the moment she arrived at the airport.
the water was very blue and there were a lot of marine animals
sonia says being there is like a dream
they then sat down and the teacher entered with two other men
the teacher is from ecuador not the islands so he can’t be their guide. Only people who live on the islands can do tours.
javier is their guide and he is going to take them to different islands to help us look for the animals that darwin saw
javier smiled and told them a hello and welcome. he introduced them to harry which is his brother. he is a similar age to sonia and the others.
during the meeting Dr. Riera told them about the course and explained that in the morning they are going to visit the Charles Darwin Science Station to see all the species of giant turtles
sonia thinks its going to be amazing
Chapter Three
Back in hospital
when they found sonia on the island, she was alone, and someone (either policeman or doctor) asked why sonia seperated from her friend and guide.
she doesn’t answer but asks if alex is ok
bro says hes dead, along with harry
sonia feels guilty
Chapter Four
back to past
they are at the charles darwin scientific station on the island of Santa cruz
at the end of the tour, harry and alex walked toward sonia and tell her that there are really big turtles on a ranch and they want to see them'
alex says the have to go and harry seems excited too.
dr. riera told them that only official guides could do tours, but harry was almost a guide
sonia considers it but is hesitent because she doesnt know if its safe.
she saw a sign that says restricted area, you can die
dr riera had told them that some parts of the island are really dangerous and people have died from dehydration
harry told sonia not to worry and that the place they are going to visit is completely safe.
they convince sonia
they go to Rancho primicias
at the ranch they observed the turtles and harry explained stuff about them.
sonia thinks hes super smart and super confident and that he would one day be an excellant guide. womp womp.
when they got back to the hotel, they went to the session with dr. riera who told them that they are going to Santiage island the next day which is uninhabited.
because it is uninhabited, they are going to stay in santa cruz for the night. the visit is special because tourists don’t go there often
javier tells them that darwin spent 9 days on the island and that they are going to explore it like he did.
they will see turtles
sonia says again that she is living the dream
Chapter 5-6 (not in pdf)
they go to island santiago on a boat named zodiacs
they then get to the shore. Harry has a machete to cut the plants
sonia gets sap in her eyes and it hurts.
No seems to have water and Dr. Riera yells at them and says that its important to always have water.
they wash her eye out and she lies on a sofa inside zodiacs (i think).
Chapter 7
sonia asks the detective is shes going to be arrested and if she is the culprit
hey said that she isn’t and that she is going through a crisis and he only wants to help alex’s family.
he points out that harry wasn’t a certified guide.
Chapter 8
dr riera told sonia in the morning that she can’t go to the island that day because her eyes are still super red and puffy
she says she feels fine and wants to go
alex and harry stay with her
harry and alex were playing cards in the lobby
she thanks them for staying with her
harry and alex asks them if they want to go to the island and look for the others.
he said that he had a friend with a boat and he could take them to the island
he says that sonia can blame him if dr. riera gets mad at them
she believes harry to be an expert
he tells her to bring a backpack and a bottle of water
she grabs two
Chapter 9
sonia asks where they found her
harrys friend heard that they had dissapeard. he spoke to the police and dr. riera ant took them to the coast.
alex and harry didn’t reach the coast but they found them near the volcano.
