1. When to Use the Preterite:
Completed actions: Actions that happened once and are finished.
Example: Ayer comí una hamburguesa. (Yesterday I ate a hamburger.)
Actions with a specific start or end time.
Example: Vivimos en Madrid por dos años. (We lived in Madrid for two years.)
Sequential actions in the past.
Example: Me levanté, me duché y desayuné. (I got up, took a shower, and had breakfast.)
Sudden changes or reactions.
Example: De repente, empezó a llover. (Suddenly, it started to rain.)
