When a mug is on a table it doesn’t move because the pull of gravity keeps it place along with the pull of the table. It is a balanced force.

When something floats in water it is less dense than water. If something sinks it is more dense than water. Things that have more weight are more likely to sink in watee and things will less weight are more likely to float in the water.

The gravity on the moon is low because it is 6X smaller than the earth.
