Quasi Experiments
Unchangeable natural factor
An experiment where the IV is an unchangeable factor which is naturally occurring like age, sex or race
Altered behaviour
Can still be done in a lab environment which can make people alter their behaviour and therefore sway the results
Locus of control
IV is internal or external locus of control depending on the individual
Behaviour of different groups of people
This type of experiment helps us to understand behaviour changes throughout life and between different groups of people which can give insights into society
Awareness
Participants are aware that they are being experimented on which means that this may alter their behaviour and sway results
Artificial tasks
The DV may be an artificial task which will take away from the realism of the experiment and therefore create a level of inaccuracy in the results
Quasi experiments are experiments with naturally occurring IVs like age or race that cannot be manipulated however the results can be biased or inaccurate due to the artificial environment and tasks
