consumer protection

  • consumer rights act 2015

  • consumer protection act 1987

2015

  • products - satisfactory quality; fit for purpose; described accurately

  • return - right to reject + demand full refund in 30 days

  • delivery - retailer responsible of product until it reaches consumer possession. has to take 30 days max.

  • repair and replace - after the 30 day return period, the retailer is given one opportunity to repair/replace

1987

  • protection against damage

compensation for:

  • damage, death, personal injury

does not work for:

  • no loss/damage to product

  • damage to business product not for private use

  • damage to property worth less than £275 (cant bring to court)

employee protection:

  • equality act 2010

  • health and safety at work act (HASAW) 1974

  • national minimum wage act 1998

  • working time regulation 1998 & 2003
