St Paul on resurrection

Describe St Paul's teaching on resurrection (5)

  • Jesus experienced a physical, bodily resurrection – we too will raised as Christ enables us to be “made alive”

  • Uses the analogy of a seed to describe bodily resurrection; body will “change’ after death – transforming from an earthly body to a heavenly body for the earthy body cannot inherit the kingdom of God

  • Earthly body is weak but grows and changes into something more powerful

  • Sown perishable and raised “imperishable and raised in splendour”

  • Earthly body is sown in dishonour and raised in glory; the resurrected body will be incorruptible and immortal, free from pain/suffering
