Biology- Cells- Microscopes

There are 2 types of microscopes

  • light → light goes through the material to show you the cells and make them clear, less clear

  • electric → more expensive and greater magnification

→ Magnification= the zoom in or out / size

→ Resolution= how clear or blurry

WHAT IS EACH PART USED FOR

  • Eye peice→ where you look through

  • coarse focus→ to zoom in greatly

  • fine focus → to zoom in more focused

  • arm→ connects the bottom and the top of the microscope

  • stage → where your item is placed

  • light/mirror etc → What makes the item clear

  • stage clip → holds the item down

  • objective lenses → helps to improve the magnification

magnification calculation

M=I/A Magnification = image size / actual size

On a triangle, IMAGE SIZE is at the top
