1.) Interactions to Avoid

• Clear boundaries

• Avoid being alone

• Avoid students on social media

• Minimize comments about physical appearance

• Keep conversations on appropriate topics

2.) Authentic Relationships

• Positive Talks

• Greet students at the door/send them off

• Give students your full attention

• Excessively encourage

  • Put personal post-it notes in their folders

• Talk about their interests and extra-circular activities

• Focus on group leaders

Legal Concerns

• Appropriate interaction with students

• Photocopying music

  • Cannot photocopy published scores

  • CBDL is legal

  • Music is consumable

  • Enlarging scores are acceptable for students with visual impairments - Have it listed in an IEP

  • If its backordered, you can make a photocopy

  • A photocopy license are for songs that are under copyright but are no longer in print
