Latitude and Longitude Coordinates

Latitude refers to the set of horizontal lines on a map or globe that run parallel to the Equator. The Equator serves as the fundamental baseline for latitude and is assigned a value of 00^{\circ}. Measurements of latitude indicate spatial position north or south of the Equator, spanning a range from 00^{\circ} at the Equator up to 9090^{\circ} North at the North Pole or 9090^{\circ} South at the South Pole.

Longitude refers to the vertical lines on a map or globe that extend from north to south, directly connecting the North Pole to the South Pole. The primary reference baseline for longitude is the Prime Meridian, which is located at 00^{\circ} longitude and passes through Greenwich, England. Longitude measures geographic location east or west of the Prime Meridian, covering a range from 00^{\circ} to 180180^{\circ} East or West.

Global Positioning System (GPS)

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a spatial navigation technology utilized for determining exact location on Earth's surface. GPS operates through a system that uses satellites orbiting the planet in conjunction with radio signals sent directly to ground-based receivers. By receiving and processing these radio signals from multiple satellites, GPS devices calculate precise geographic coordinates.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a computer-based framework that organizes, manages, analyzes, and displays location data. GIS integrates spatial information to visualize continuous geographical datasets, serving as a primary tool used for creating dynamic maps, conducting advanced academic and spatial research, and developing a comprehensive understanding of places, spatial distributions, and geographic patterns.

Remote Sensing Technology

Remote sensing is the method of scanning and gathering information about the Earth from above without direct physical contact with the object or area being observed. Remote sensing platforms collect high-resolution spatial and environmental data using specialized sensors mounted on satellites or high-flying vehicles.
