Kinship refers to the social and familial bonds between people, encompassing relationships based on blood, marriage, or adoption.
TYPES OF KINSHIP
- Consanguineal or Lineal Kinship: Kinship based on blood.
- Affinal Kinship: Kinship based on marriage.

UNILINEAL DESCENT
- Tracing descent through a single line of ancestors, either male or female.

BILINEAL DESCENT

AFFINAL
- Kinship based on marriage.
MARRIAGE
- Union of a man and a woman.

MONOGAMY
- Types of marriage where only two people are involved.
POLYGAMY
- Types of marriage where a person marries more than one individual.
- Polygyny: One man is married to multiple women.
- Polyandry: One woman has multiple husbands.
ENDOGAMY
- Partner is found within the same social or cultural group.
EXOGAMY
- Partner is found outside of the group.
