2 Meditation

Chapter 1: Introduction

  • Meditation can be done sitting or lying down.

  • Wear comfortable clothes; loosen tight items.

  • Perform three deep breaths; observe body from head to toe.

  • Focus on inhaling (back of body) and exhaling (front of body).

  • Maintain awareness of breath.

Chapter 2: Anitya Bhavana

  • Be vigilant regarding food and thoughts; practice Anitya Bhavana.

  • Engage in internal cleansing alongside external cleaning.

  • Understand everything is temporary; embrace the learner's mindset.

  • Maintain emotional distance and control imaginations.

Chapter 3: The Physical Tapa

  • Foster positivity; train the mind through tapa (discipline).

  • Tapa may include abstaining from favorite foods or doing disliked tasks.

  • Tapa is paired with self-study (swadhyaya).

  • Emphasize surrendering actions to a higher purpose.

Chapter 4: Instrument Of Actions

  • Body and mind are tools for action; surrender actions to the highest.

  • Focus on truthfulness and energy conservation.

  • Avoid unnecessary talk, thought, and feeling; share joy and peace.

  • Pledge for non-violence and inward reflection.

Chapter 5: Focus On Listening

  • Focus on the universal prayer for peace and well-being for all.

  • Wishes: happiness, health, auspiciousness, and freedom from pain for everyone.

Chapter 6: Gently Bring Your Awareness

  • Gradually bring awareness back to the body (toes, fingers).

  • Perform gentle stretches; assume the third asana position.

  • Take three breaths in a comfortable position.

Chapter 7: The Left Wrist

  • Assume Sukhasana (cross-legged position); maintain erect posture.

  • Observe breath; conclude with yoga mudra (hand position).

Chapter 8: Conclusion

  • Thank the yoga master, Patanjali, and express gratitude for life forces.

  • Acknowledge elements sustaining existence (earth, water, air, etc.).

  • Close the session with Namaskar and gentle gestures.
