Exclusivist, Inclusivists and Pluralists

Exclusivists

They regard their own faith tradition as the only completely true religion. Other religions might have elements of truth in them but they are largely false. Anyone who does not accept Jesus as the incarnation of God cannot be saved.

Inclusivists

They believe that their own faith tradition is the only completely true religion. They do not view other religions as wrong but think that other religions are incomplete faiths. Inclusivists believe the sure way to achieve salvation is through Jesus, but they do believe it is possible for people who are not members of the church to be saved. Most catholic regard themselves as inclusivists.

Pluralists

They believe all faiths are deserving of respect since there are many path to God and all paths are equal.
