DAP Interview Overview

  • Three rounds: DAP 11, DAP 22, DAP 33

    • DAP 22: small group / individual; deeper discussion of online application; college reps not yet present
    • DAP 33: medium group (≈ 20202525 people); Posse staff and college admissions officers attend; similar collaborative tasks followed by brief networking

Timeline (NY Cohort – Approx.)

  • DAP 11: mid- to late August / early September
  • Decision for DAP 22: ~22 weeks after DAP 11 (late September–October)
  • DAP 22: late September–October
  • Decision for DAP 33: ~22 weeks after DAP 22 (early November)
  • DAP 33: late November–early December
  • Scholarship decision: within 11 week of DAP 33

Interview Structure & Tips

  • Dress code: business casual / professional
  • Key evaluation points: collaboration, engagement, clarity, authenticity
  • Quality over quantity: concise, meaningful contributions valued more than dominating talk-time
  • Introverts acceptable—show active listening & team facilitation
  • For DAP 22: know why you ranked each school; prepare to discuss application details

College Matching & Application

  • Matching occurs after DAP 22; applicants submit Early Decision (ED) to matched school (deadline ≈ November 1515)
  • Only 1111 partner schools available for Posse New York; cannot use scholarship at non-partner institutions
  • STEM-specific Posses: currently Brandeis & UW-Madison (must intend STEM major); Babson strictly business
  • Double majors allowed (e.g., STEM + music) once on campus

Financial Aid Considerations

  • Posse covers full tuition only
  • Room, board, fees, travel = student responsibility (seek additional aid/scholarships)
  • Matched school may offer need-based aid to supplement, but not guaranteed
