Rules for Months and Dates in Italian
Capitalization: Names of the months are generally not capitalized in Italian, except when they begin a sentence.
First Day of the Month: The first day of the month can be expressed in two ways:
il primo(the first)l'uno(the one)
Prepositions for Dates: Unlike English, Italian generally does not use a preposition between the number of the day and the name of the month.
Example:
Oggi è il tre gennaio.- Today is the third of January (January 3rd).
