Integrated Defense

• Purpose and Definition: Integrated defense is an "All Airmen" program designed to synchronize multidisciplinary capabilities (active, passive, offensive, and defensive) to mitigate risks and neutralize threats within base boundaries and security zones.

• Boundaries:

  • Base Perimeter: The physical boundary of the installation.

  • Base Boundary: Defined by JP 3-10 as a line delineating the surface area for coordination and deconfliction based on METT-TC (Mission, Enemy, Terrain and Weather, Time, Troops Available, and Civil Considerations).

  • Base Security Zone: A USAF-unique term describing the area outside the perimeter vulnerable
