  • correct terminology

  • theories that have their correct respective information

  • influences of language change society, individuals, technology, foreign influences, science, colonialism and travel

  • make sure that you include some descriptive and prescriptive perspectives ( Aicherson + Crystal + Queen’s english society)

  • understand the semantic changes that have taken place as well such as amelioration, pejoration, broadening, narrowing etc…

  • analyse and explain using the PEEL method

  • make sure that when you comment on the texts you link them together

  • don’t discuss them separately

  • include knowledge of the history of where the text A and the corpus from text B comes from as well as C

  • make sure that the points that you comment on are ones that you will be able to answer fully and understand the best

  • include some linguistic perspectives on language change
