Salt making

If the salt that is being made is insoluble for example CaSO4

Precipitation:

  • mix the solutions containing the ions required in the salt

  • Try and make the other salt soluble so the salt you need is the only one made that is solid

  • NaSO4 is soluble and CaO is soluble therefore NaO is soluble while CaSO4 is not

If the salt is soluble but the Metal base or carbonate is not
