• Can be used for impersonation.

• Examples include:

  • Full name (first, middle, last)

  • Home address

  • Phone number

  • Social Security or National Insurance number

  • Email address

  • Bank account number

  • Passport number

  • Driver's License number

  • Login credentials (username + password)

  • Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN)

  • Browser history

  • Social media posts

  • IP addresses

Indirect Personal Identifiable Information (PIL)

• Information that ties to a person in less obvious ways.

• Examples include:

  • Postal or ZIP code

  • Gender

  • Height

  • Weight

  • Eye color
