Employment cycle is a process businesses follow to obtain staff, lead, motivate, support and depart from the employee employer relationship.

Describe

The employment cycle consists of four stages that for a continuous cycle. These include:

  1. Acquisition (analysis of staffing needs, recruitment and selection)

  2. Development (induction and training)

  3. Maintenance (contract agreements and performance management)

  4. Separation (retirement, resignation, retrenchment and dismissal).

Explain

This is a continuous process as businesses try to maintain their employee ratio or organisational structure and allow for growth without compromising efficiency, workloads and financial security.
