1⃣ Square & Cube (you are DOING it)

  • Square (²) → number × itself
    Example:
    5² = 5 × 5 = 25

  • Cube (³) → number × itself × itself
    Example:
    3³ = 3 × 3 × 3 = 27


Square root & Cube root (you are UNDOING it)

  • Square root (√) → “what number times itself gives this?”
    Example:
    √25 = ? → what × what = 25 → 5

  • Cube root (∛) → “what number times itself 3 times gives this?”
    Example:
    ∛27 = ? → what × what × what = 27 → 3
