Bezalel and Aholiab
God's Call: The Lord called Bezalel, son of Uri and grandson of Hur from the tribe of Judah.
Gifts Bestowed: Filled Bezalel with the Spirit of God, endowing him with wisdom, understanding, and knowledge in craftsmanship.
Craftsmanship Skills: Capable of working with gold, silver, brass, stone, and timber.
Aholiab: Given as a companion to Bezalel, son of Ahisamak from the tribe of Dan.
Divine Wisdom: God placed wisdom in the hearts of all wise individuals to fulfill His commands.
Instructions for the Tabernacle
Purpose: To create the Tabernacle of the congregation and its furnishings.
Items to Create:
Ark of the Testimony
Mercy Seat
Furniture of the Tabernacle
Table and its furnishings
Pure candlestick and its furniture
Altar of incense
Altar of burnt offering and its furniture
Labor and its foot
Cloths of service
Holy garments for Aaron and his sons
Anointing oil
Sweet incense for the holy place
The Sabbath Commandment
Command: Keep the Sabbath as a sign between God and Israel.
Holiness: The day is holy and anyone who defiles it shall be put to death.
Work Restrictions:
Work may be done for six days, but the seventh is a rest day for the Lord.
Strict prohibition against working on the Sabbath.
Covenant Significance: Observing the Sabbath is a perpetual covenant between God and Israel.
Creation Reference: Reminder that God created heavens and earth in six days and rested on the seventh.
Tables of Testimony
Divine Gift: When Moses completed his communion with God on Mount Sinai, he received two stone tablets.
Written by God: The tablets were inscribed with the finger of God.
