Electromagnetic Circuit
How to do an electromagnetic Circuit?
Step 1 -Develop the reluctance network(magnetic equivalent circuit)
Length measured along flux line (ignore fringing and leakages)
Cross section considered perpendicular to flux lines
Stack length(stack height or thickness)mostly remains same if not specified
Identify the cross section areas in different sections of the electro magnetic component (machine , inductor, etc.)
find out length of each cross section area
Develop reluctance network similar to electrical resistance network by considering the series parallel connections
Step 2 - Determine the MMF of the circuit
If excitation than NI - single or multiple
Arrange according to polarity (for multiple direction is essential)
If PM than H*I
Step 3 - Determine flux - MMR/Rtotal
Step 4 - Calculate total flux linkage of the coil - N* phi
Step 5 - Calculate flux density through different cross sections - phi/Ai
Notes- Reluctance is represented as resistor symbol
