Tone Words/ Vocabulary Definition Sheet
Amiable (adjective) - Friendly and pleasant in manner. Example: The amiable shopkeeper greeted every customer with a warm smile.
Complimentary (adjective) - Expressing praise or admiration; given for free.
Example: The coach was very complimentary about the team's performance.
3. Fanciful (adjective) - Imaginative and unrealistic; whimsical. Example: The author's fanciful tales of magical creatures captivated young readers.
Belligerent (adjective) - Hostile and aggressive; inclined to fight. Example: The belligerent customer refused to leave without causing a scene.
Disgruntled (adjective) - Unhappy, dissatisfied, or annoyed. Example: The employees were disgruntled about the sudden changes in policy.
6. Haughty (adjective) - Arrogantly superior and disdainful. Example: The haughty aristocrat looked down on those of lower status.
