The Battle of Kaba

The Battle of Kaba

The battle of kaba was caused by the scenario when Cakobau was so downcast that he was persuaded to accept Christianity and to renounce his old heathen believes but many of the allies who disliking Christianity, went over to the enemies. Another cause was when the Rewan chief's were tires of war and sought peace, Cakobau agreed but rebel Bauans at Kaba disagreed. The battle was fought with Tongans insisting on charging at a time when the normal tactics would be to and thus making the enemy confused. The significance of the battle was to prove the victory for Christianity over Heathenism, a victory which led to a series of mass conversion of Fijians to Christianity.
