PRE- CAL
Circle - set of all points in a plane that are equidistant from a fixed point called center.
Diameter - distance from any point to any point on a circle.
radius - distance from the center to any point on the circle.
Standard Form of a circle - (x+h)² + (y+k)² = r²
General form of circle - x²+y²+Dx+Ey+f=0
Parabola - set of all points in a plane that are equidistant from a fixed line called directrix and a fixed point called focus.
Vertex - the lowest or highest point of a parabola.
Directrix - line perpendicular to the axis of symmetry of parabola and does not that the parabola.
Latus Rectum - chord passing through the focus and perpendicular to the axis of symmetry.
Axis of symmetry - line that passes through the vertex and perpendicular to the directrix
Standard form of parabola - y=ax²+bx+c
Vertex form of parabola - y=a(x-h)+k
Ellipse - set of all points in a plane such that the sum of its distances from two fixed points on a plane is constant.
Foci - plural form for focus
standard form of ellipse - (x-h)^2/a^2 + (y-k)^2/b^2 = 1
