Direct Objects & Direct Object Pronouns

Direct Object: the person or thing that receives the action of a verb

Singular direct object = lo

Singular feminine form = la

Masculine Plural form = los

Feminine plural form = las

  • Direct objects generally follow a verb

  • Direct Object Pronouns generally go before a conjugated verb

Don’t put the pronoun before the verb is saved for infinitives !

Sentence structure w/ verbs:

Condition = 1 conjugated verb used together with the infinitive form of another verb

Where would the direct object pronoun be placed?

  1. At the very end of the sentence

  2. Before the conjugated verb

Present Progressive:

  • Verbs that end in -ando or -iendo

    pronouns can go before the verb
