Auditions

Conducting the Auditions:

Nervous doesn’t always mean bad

Tape/Record all auditions

-check how they look on camera

-loose track of your actors

3.Cold Read

-sides given out at auditions, there are no preperation adn they are reading off a page, how can an actor work on their feet and what type of roles would these be good for

-for comedy and adlibing

While conducting the interviews, assesting the actor:

-Sustainability for the part, their ability to carry out the character throughout the film.

-Grasp of acting, is the person reading off of the page or is it just going through the motions, are they able to change, are you casting an actor that is displaying as this person or this character

-Directability, give them notes or things to change throughout audition to see how they take directing and do they take notes, can they change

-How much are they commiting

Negative Character + Typecasting

-negative in terms of the opposite and the reserve

When your done with the Audiotion, you do three things

-Say thank you.

-Date of Notification

-Positive remark, about what they did well

-always let them know why they didnt get the role

Rational choice theorist suggest four ways to reduce crime

Situational Crime Preventation

-looking for ways to change a situation that would prevent crime from happening

-the means to commit crime is controlled

Stratgies designed to reduce or eliminate a specific crime problem included

-increasing the effort needed to commit a crime

-increasing the risk of rewards of crim

-inducing guilt

-reducing provocation

-removing excuses

on lesser offenses that aren’t motivation filled.

Benefits of Sitational Crime Prevention

Diffusion - when fforts to prevent one crime unintentionally prevent another crime as well

Discouragement - when crime control efforts targeting a specific location help reduce crime in surrounding areas

Costs of Situational Crime Preventation

Displacement - when crime control efforts redirect offenders to alternative targets

Extinction - when crime reduction programs produce a short term positive effect, but benefits dissipate as criminals adjust

Replacement - when criminals move to new offenses because crime control efforts have neutralized thier crime of choice
