1st Corinthians 16
Collections
Paul writes what the Corinthians should do for collecting money for the needy
He orders for each church member to store/save up then give their gift at the first day of each week.
This is so when Paul comes, nobody is pressured to last minute give. They need to have already prepared it then to bring it.
Then a representative of Corinth is to bring their gifts to Jerusalem
Conclusion of 1st Corinthians
Paul will visit them when he passes through Macedonia and possibly spend the winter with them.
He wishes to stay with them rather than see them in passing.
But for now, he will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost as God has led him and is directing him through opportunities and adversaries.
Paul mentions that Timothy may come and to respect him when he does
Apollos will come at a later time when it is good for him to do so
Paul tells them to:
Always watch: what’s going on outside and inside the church
Stand fast in faith: Don’t allow yourself to falter if you can help it
Be brave and strong in the face of hardships
Let everything you do be with love
Let anyone who does not truly love Jesus be cursed
