3. General Adaptation Syndrome (GAS)
The concept of General Adaptation Syndrome describes the body’s three-stage response to stress:

It is prevalent across all age groups, with a noticeable increase in older individuals.
7. Stress and Disease: Specific Problems
Stress can lead to several health issues:
Headaches may develop during or after a stress response.
Stomatitis, which includes mouth ulcers, and necrotizing periodontal disease may occur.
Prolonged vasoconstriction can impair organ functions or lead to necrosis in gastrointestinal tracts and kidneys.
Chronic infections and physical/emotional distress are potential precipitating factors of these conditions.
8. Potential Effects of Prolonged or Severe Stress
