Elements
Elements is the simplest form of chemical matter and a substance that made of one atom.
Elements cannot be broken down into a simpler substance without a loss of their original identity.
• There are 118 elements known to science today. Ninety-eight (98) occur naturally on Earth.
• Each element is identified by a letter symbol, such as O for oxygen, C for carbon, or H for hydrogen.
• Symbols for all the elements can be found on the periodic table of elements in chemistry textbooks or by searching the Internet
