ir → to go
Irregular verb

ir is often used with the preposition: “al”
a + el = al
Does not apply when “a” is followed by the other definite articles
Examples:
Voy al parque con Juan → I’m going to the park with Juan.
Mis amigos van a las montañas. → My friends are going to the mountains
¿Adónde vas? → (To) Where are you going?
ir a + infinitive
Used to tell what somebody is going to do
Por ejemplo:
Va a leer el periódico. → He is going to read the newspaper
Van a pasear por el pueblo - They are are going to walk around town
vamos a + infinitive
Projected the idea of “lets do something”
Por ejemplo:
Vamos a pasear → Let’s talk a walk."
¡Vamos a comer! → Let’s eat!
