FASHION DESIGN AND FASHION MERCHANDISING
  • FASH100 Fashion in Culture & Commerce (3 Credits)

    • Explores fashion's role in culture and commerce.
    • Examines historic roles, evolution of fashion, social dimensions (especially women in society), Eastern & Western design aesthetics, celebrity impact, and how trends reflect contemporary values.
    • Topics include ethics, art movements, sustainability, labor practices, environmental support, and globalization.
  • FASH126 The Creative Process (3 Credits)

    • Introduces materials, tools, and techniques for creating mood/concept boards in fashion.
    • Covers papers, drawing mediums (crayon, pencil, ink), color mediums (gouache, watercolor), adhesives, cutting tools and basic design concepts (focus, color, line, space, etc.).
  • FASH130 Fashion Figure Drawing (1 Credit)

    • Focuses on the fundamentals of fashion figure proportion and poses.
    • Develops a personal line and style in figure drawing.
    • Offered in Fall semester only.
  • FASH131-133 Fashion Figure Drawing II to IV (1 Credit each)

    • Continuation of FASH130, incorporating advanced figure drawing techniques.
    • II offered in Fall; III and IV offered in Spring.
