Characters
Characterization: The process through which the author reveals the characters personality and info.
Direct: The author directly states info about the character.
Indirect: The author indirectly reveals info about a character. You have to infer.
Inference: An educated guess based off of observations and prior experiences.
Indirect characterization must connect to a personality trait.
Static vs. Dynamic
Static: When they stay the same throughout the story.
Dynamic: When they change and grow as the story progresses.
Round vs. Flat
When we know a lot of info about a character.
When a character has only one or two character traits. They are supporting characters.
Character traits: Specific personality traits, values, morals, likes, and dislikes. This does not include appearance or basic facts.
