Jesus is Sacrament

A sacrament must have three factors:

  • Outward sign

  • Shows Grace

  • Created by Christ

Types of Prayer:

  • Adoration - start of prayer: persons first attitude

  • Blessing - asking for God’s graces and blessing God for his goodness

  • Petition - “asking” prayer / “begging” prayer

  • Intercession - petition prayer on behalf of someone else

  • Thanksgiving - a prayer of expressing gratitude

  • Praise - brings together all forms of prayer and brings them to God

Ways to Pray:

  • Vocal prayer - you pray with words ( extemporanous or traditional)

  • Meditation - a search for God; actively using thoughts, imagination, and emotion

  • Contemplation - simply being in the presence of God, silent and wordless

Parts of the Sanctuary:

  • alter - serves as the place for the Services sacrifice

  • tabernacle - contains the blessed sacrament

  • lectern - place to proclaims God’s word

  • ambry - where the chrism is stored

  • baptismal font - basin for baptismal water

Holy Days requires attendance

Solemnities encourage attendance but do not require it, they are also always in celebration of Mary

Mary’s role in the church is as Queen of Heaven and Earth

There are three cycles of readings named:

  1. A Matthew

  2. B Mark

  3. C Luke
